Oral history interview with Murray Shiff, Jan. 12, 1989.

Shiff recounts his impressions of the Seattle Jewish community on his arrival in the city in 1972. He describes the implementation of new methods of operation for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. These included new leadership programs, an emphasis on education, and the building of a viable fund-raising organization. Shiff also discusses Soviet Jewry, the Seattle Jewish Transcript newspaper, Seattle youth leadership, fund-raising, and community relations.
